Gunpla

Apologies for my terrible phone camera quality.

To be totally honest, I'm a fake Gundam fan - I got into building the models while I was listening to The Magnus Archives for the first time and had such a fun time I kept doing it, but I had absolutely no knowledge of Gundam at all. I've only recently begun watching the original series, now that I'm 8 models deep ^^U

The process of building the models is really soothing and satisfying. When I first started, I wasn't expecting to like the finished models as much as the process of building them, but I've gotten really attached to them! I got started thanks to this great Polygon article that gives a really beginner-friendly explanation of how to buy and build Gunpla.

Builds

Because I know almost nothing about Gundam, I basically just picked models that looked cool or like they would be fun to build, so they're all over the place in terms of series. Here's the full list of builds I've completed, corresponding to the image above (left to right):

To this point, I've gotten the majority of my kits from Amazon, which I'm trying to move away from. I've bought my most recent kits from (relatively) local hobby stores, which I'd much rather give my money to even if they're a little more expensive.
